Medical school. Ten weeks in now...and while it's the most enjoyable learning experience I've ever had, it's also terrifying.
Pharmacology: "50-90% of all IV infusions given in a hospital are incorrect...and one in five prescriptions written in a hospital are wrong." - Oh god I'm going to kill somebody!
Microbiology: "Most bugs these days are resistant to many antibiotics because YOUR PREDECESSORS WERE IRRESPONSIBLE. Vancomycin, a drug that was the last resort NO LONGER WORKS (admittedly, that's more the chicken industry's fault, but still!). DON'T BE IRRESPONSIBLE" - Oh god, we're not going to have anything to prescribe for bacterial infections!
Anatomy: "Yeah, try to learn everything. But keep in mind, it only takes 40% of the population for a structure to be deemed 'normal' - so welcome to loads of variation. Now quick, name all the structures superior, inferior, anterior and posterior to the pancreas. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1..." - Oh god, if I ever do surgery I'm probably going to cut a major artery and the patient's going to bleed to death in front of me!
In all seriousness, it's a ball. And I love anatomy.
